finboxes

Do some fins in finboxes slide around. My new raibow fin in my 8’6" longboard slides but I don’t think I can tighten the screw any more with out the risk of striping the screw. Maybe I didn’t install it right. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like your screw may be too big and therefore not bringing a tight clamp btween the fin and the nut. If that’s the case just get a shorter screw.>>> Do some fins in finboxes slide around. I’ve had the same problem in older boards where the fin seems to be loose and rocks back and forth. Usually putting some tape along the bottom of the fin and jamming it into the box will work. I’ve used hose mending tape which seems to do the trick. Give it a try. Brent http://www.2ndwavesurfboards.com
