fingerprints on sanded finishes

haha, thats crazy…

no im not looking for a shiny finish, thats what i diddnt like about the other sealer i had… ill try the dolphin skin and hit it with some scotch brite to kill the shine and see how i like it…

that stuff i threw out was just nasty, it had a shine that could be dulled with scitch brite, but you could scratch the stuff off with your fingernail… i disliked it so much i even sanded it off, and talk about gumming up some sandpaper…

ill mess around with these ideas and see what i get… i guess im done asking questions on the topic… but feel free to keep coming up with fingerprint jokes if you want to.

thanks for the laughs and the info…

Howzit onion, Not sure what stuff you used but the acrylic I use couldn't be scratched off. If I got it on my hands it would take like 3 days to wear off and on a board the only way I could take it off was with acetone or sand paper. Aloha,Kokua

ok so i said id let this thead die, but i can t help it…

id rather not say the name or company i bought the stuff from that i diddnt like…

but kokua, yer talking dolphin shin right? im going to give that a shot, hit it with the scotchbrite if there is a shine that i dont like…

i also think the compound idea could work, not to add much shine… but more or less to just coat the board with the oily chemicals, thus maybe repelling the dirt on peoples hands…since fingerprints dont ever appear on my polished boards…if im not burning trough with sand paper, i have no worries with the compound… just a quick pass to get it on the board , then the exces off ofcourse…

also i have another idea, i have some teflon based based lubricant that i usually use for my bike components, i figure if i put that on a wrag and whipe it on the board, it would keep the clean clear grease on the board, and keep the greasy bastards fingerprints from sticking at the same time…

it might make waxing their new board difficult, but if it was me id be bitching about the wax, not the board. they will get it on eventually…
