Any ideas??
This fish is 6’2’’ and 19 5/8 wide, 2 1/2 thick. Vee bottom and single concave running till mid point. Its not finished yet so I can still mow in a little double concave in back.

Looks hot!
(I couldn’t salvage the URL from the second picture…)
I’ve got some more photo’s but I haven’t figured out this thing yet…
I’ve used the postcard thing to upload an image, deleted the http:// part and pasted in the img location.
any hints??
Other specs:
20kg eps
2mm balsa skins with 4 0z glass
cork and balsa rails
What’s the distance between the pins?
What’s the width 1’ up from the end of the pins?
How do you want the board to perform?
Drivey long turns with round cutbacks, highline drives, down the line speed or vertical, pump it up surfing?
In what kind of surf do you want it to perform best?
Twins at 10.5 off tail, and centre at 3.5…
and yes, i saw it myself, it IS hot…
I’d love to hear any tips you may be willing to share on best practices for sawing such thin skins.

I wish I could but I can custom order any thickness I want… easy as that!
Foil???
Vee?
Argh!
should be visible now…
Cheers Dave!

I love my traditional keel twin fish but I hate the fact that I can’t go vertical especially on the bs. That’s why I built this fish with less width and more curve in the tail.
I mostly surf small crumbly stuff (lucky me!) and head high surf. My style is something between traditional and modern… does that make any sense??? I’m not really a hack, slash and helicopter guy, I don’t like to pump the crap out of my board.
Beautiful board…
I’d shape some wooden single foiled keels… about 5" high and about 7.5" to 8" bases. Slightly toed and canted… maybe 2 degrees cant (you’ve got the vee already) and about 2.5" off the nose.
Nice work…
Check out the Beatty Rock Fish fins on the True Ames site.
Thanks!
Distance between tips= 8.25
1’ of tail= 15 3/8
I’m not sure if I want to go for keels again. I’ve got a nice speed dailer template though…
Very nice board, mook!
I´m not an expert, but i can hear the outline screaming “speed dialers”
If you are willing to wait, i could share first hand experience, since i´m glassing something similar (although a little more towards a trad. fish as far as the outline is concerned, 3oz./2mm balsa/6oz. over 23kg/m^2 eps, cork/balsa rails) with speed dialers at the moment…
How about speed dailers:
front fins single foiled@ 11,5 , 1.25 from the rail, 0.25 toe and 5 degrees cant.
back fins double foiled@ 5,75 , 2" from the rail, 1/8 toe and 0 degrees cant?
I’ve not ridden a quad with Pavels fins but the people that I see riding them do a lot of humping and pumping on them in fat surf. You will probably need a fairly steep small wave or bigger wave to get the most out of them.
I am totally sold on single foiled keels with a little bit of toe and a good dollup of cant (Check out Brom’s set ups) for all around good times. Mine work great in flat bottomed fish in mush or power. And they really kill in a narrow tailed, rolled bottom fish when it gets serious.
I’ll measure my set-ups and let you know tomorrow.
