Hi there!
I’ve just put fins on place, I glue them on the board with some lam resin, then I put on each side of the fins two lays of fiber, with lam resin.
The problem is: I didn’t put any rope at the base of the fins, because I don’t how to make a fiber rope…
I have 4 oz fiber lays, how do I create a fiber rope?
Sorry for my bad English…

Hey Chaby,
Check out this link - towards the bottom of the page, it walks through doing them without rope.

By the way, you’re English is very good.

Thank you for your answer Herb. I’m gonna replace the fiber rope with 4 - 4 oz. strips 1/2" - 1" wide on each side.
The problem is that I did the hot coat, I guess that I will have to do another hot coat on the strip after laminating them…
What do you think?

Chaby,
Sounds like you’re on track - Just make sure you sand your present hot coat in preparation of the layers (to get rid of the hot-coat’s wax surface ).
Best of luck,

Besides directly bonding the fin base to the board’s bottom after hot coating, or pre-installing a fin box, you could rout out the bottom and inlay the fin base - very secure, BUT a hard whack on a fin will do some board bottom damage.
