Hi all, long time sway’s lurker here. I thought I remembered seeing some talk here a while ago about a bad batch of boards that firewire manufactured but can no longer find the thread. Why I am asking is I’m positive I have one. It’s an alternator model and after only my second session on the board I began to notice a small light yellow streak forming under the glass… since first notice the streak has branched out and is much bigger(a couple of feet long). I have been told that there was a UV reaction with the resin causing the problem. There is also a 3" patch of delam on the deck. The board is now only 6 months old and still has not more than a couple pressure dings, absolutely water tight. The shop where the board was purchased said they were unable to contact the rep from firewire and I have also tried multiple times to contact them via the FW website. Months later I have still received not one word from them. I am very agitated at the fact that I dropped that amount of money for a HIGH quality board and feel that my decision has yet to be justified. I purchased a firewire because of their supposed extensive r&d, quality of materials as well as the aesthetically appealing look of these boards and currently feel that I have received none of this. Would like to hear everyones input on my situation and also if anyone has contact with a FW rep., who could hook me up with a number or relay my frustrations.
Thanks,
WES
