first board question.

I’m starting to get into shaping and was wondering what type of shape would be good to try first. I was thinking about a quad fin fish. Any comments of suggestions? Thanks

Hey Pighead, be pigheaded and make the sort of board you want to ride, after all, it’s for you, isn’t it?

You are going to have fun so do what you like.

good advice wildy.

you should shape what you want to ride but just try and keep it simple. the more little things you try to encorporate will end in a board that might not work very well.

A quad fin fish is probably a difficult first board. Have to shape two tails. The butt crack. Placement and mounting the quad fins. Sanding all that s–t down. I made the mistake of making my second board a twinzer fish(swallow tail). Pigmented resin and gloss coat. I still have it and look at it for laughs. It worked, though. I nice clean lined rounded pin is relatively simple shape for a first board.Mike
