First post, First board

I am slowly getting everything in order (tools, space, etc) to shape and glass my first board. Looking for input on the best choice of the shapes I am considering. The problem is that  I think I am considering two challenging choices, a mid-length Simmons or a 10 foot + glider style longboard.  Any help to steer this new guy in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

From the perspective of a noob garage hack myself; yes sounds like you have choosen a couple of challenging shapes. But it's your time and your money, shape what you want! That's what it's all about. Go slow, ask for help and read, read, read. Check out as many build threads on here as possible before you proceed. At least that's what I did and I have been really stoked about building my own boards. I can say that in my own experience the long board is much more challenging and I have shaped and glassed 5 from 8'6"  to 10' in EPS and PU. Just my opinion.... maybe....hopefully some of the more experienced guys can chime in on that?

A short, simple shape cut from a close tolerance blank… Don’t over shape. Go slow. Pay attention. Read the archives. Have fun!
