First Snap Repair

I picked up a snapped stick for some needed ding repair practice. Thanks to Chipfish for telling me what finish/sanding resin is for.

Bud’s broken ride.

Stripped glass and hot glued it together.

Chopsticks added to increase stringer strength. I’m not sure if it even helps.

Posca markers are cool.

Mmmm, brown resin. I exchanged one bottle for another after I noticed. Still brown.

Cool SWA!!!

Where do you get the brown resin?, brown is such a hard colour to create with tints…or shouldn’t I ask…

Could be run off from the chop sticks, did you wash off the sauce first…

Chippy told me how hard brown is to get. Kung pao sauce most likely.

thanks for posting that sequence 'sir W.A.L. " !

…let this series of photos be a warning for those of you who think that you can stuff used toilet paper into a snap repair and "no-one will notice " , eh ?!

looks like it all sanded up okay …how’s the smell , neighbours evicted you yet ?

cheers !

Yeah, but it tastes like chicken. Next time swirl that red sweet & sour sauce with the brown, got a lava look going on.

On the next snap repair forget about the sticks, no reason for it. Just glue the two pcs together with some resin and filler, sand it nice and semi smooth and wrap it with cloth. I’ve done too many broken boards to recall, and I’ve never had one come back broken in the place where i repaired it. Just make sure you repair is tight and bubble free, and use 6 oz cloth.

That goes for the middle of the board too.
