I was wondering how to glass the deck of a long board I was going to go with 2 layers of 6oz. , but I am concerned that if I glass both of the layers at the same time that it will soak up all my resin and I’ll get patch bubbles and probably run in to a gel time error. I already did the bottom with 2 layers of 4oz. Thanks for any input.

Yes do them both at once. If you are worried about not being able to work in the resin and lap the rails in time, use a little more resin with the same amount of catalyst (don’t go crazy, or it will never kick). This will give you more resin to saturate the cloth and a more time to work with it. I’m sure if you describe the dimensions of the board you are doing, and where you are at (temps. & humidity play a big role) someone in your area can give you some resin to catalyst ratios that work for you.
you do glass both layers at the same time. Thanks steve I wasn’t sure but it came out great. I had to lighten up on the catalist alittle from what I’m used to. I think I’ll take the rest of my long boards to a glass shop.
depend size of board…temperature and humidity…for 2 x 6 oz usually about 1.3/1.5 litres of silmar resin (if u learn better second…1.5 litres) and about 16 grams of cat at 20°C (depend what type of MEKP u use…butanox, perester etc etc).
u Can divide 1 litre with 12 cc of cat for the top and after 0,5Litre with 6 cc for rails
