Firts board plans - any input?

So I am planning to shape my first board in a about a month during spring break from school. What I really need in my quiver is summer board for Santa Barbara and South Bay. I really like my buddy’s CI Pod, so I based the outline on that. I am not really sure if the rocker is approriate… Im going for easy paddling/quick turning/flies through flat sections. So here it is: 5’8" x 20" x 2 3/8". My skill level is probably novice-intermediate (unfortunately college keeps me out of the water A LOT) I am 5’8" and about 145lbs.

Note: I am thinking I will put a swallow tail on it… any other suggestions?

Any rocker comments? Tail is at 1 3/4" and nose is at 4" (I feel like this is too much in the nose).

As for the construction, im going to vac rotary bamboo veneer on the deck and bottom. Probably three or four layers on each side. I know that this will make it plenty stiff, so for the rails any suggestions that will make them durable, but not overly stiff? Would it work to vacuum the top and bottom on and then glass on fiberglass rails or the other way around?

When I do get to building this board, I will post plenty of pictures as I work on it. Any comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

redistribute some of the volume/thickness you have towards the back of the board (rocker profile) towards the mid point
