fish fin placement with future fins

I just shaped a 6’0’’ Lis style fish. I am going to use the Future Fins. What kind of fin placement would you use? The tale is 14.6’’ at the points of the tail and 18.5’’ at 12’’ up.

fin size?

There Twin Fins are Height 5 and 1/8 Base 4 and 3/16. Its not a large as a keel I know but its what I have access to.

Icarus,

I just made a template for you today and included three keel fin templates. Mail them tomorrow. My advice is to use the keels instead of the futures. There fun to make and work good on the wide tailed fishes. Can you wait? mike

Thanks, I am holding a blank aside for that template.

Michael

I suspect that fin is not going to hold in for your board in any kind of steepness, so might need a smaller 3" trailer.

If you have already decided on a pure twin, then the trailing edge at around 5.5" from the tip of the swallow.

If you are considering use of a center box trailer, then the trailing edge of the side fins can be the normal 12.5 " from the tip of the swallow, and the trailer about 3" from the buttcrack. On the cluster idea, closer is snappier, farther apart is bigger sweetspot, smoother, and easier to turn.
