Fish SUP

Hi, SUP specialist !

i want to shape a SUP but, didn’t want a 12’ SUP , so i’m trying to get information about a " fish SUP " as the CI.

I would like to reduce the lenght at max for my SUP is about 8’ something possible ?

I’m thiking a 8’ x 28" x 4" EPS round nose fish outline …

I guess a 8’ SUP is possible as long as you increase thickness to achieve a volume around 120-140liters.

Try AKUSHAPER software for it.

Hi , i’m on the Aku software !

120 liters for a 8’2" x 28" x 4 11/16 ! what a blank !

I hope it’s ok for my 72 kg ?

Why a 8’2" SUP ?

  • I’ve got a 11" M.Munoz ultra glide, don’t like it too much rocker, too much lenght ! to heavy also !!

  • to put it in a car !

  • i use to ride a 5’8" fish or smaller ( 5’0" !!! ) when other use a 6’2" , let try to SUP on 8’2" when others need a 12 !!

  • My new shaping room is limited ( 9’ +++ max )

It’s not 8’2" but here’s a JP swallow tail SUP at 10’6". The rails are more surfboard than blocky D rails. Paddles like an SUP surfs like a surfboard.

Is this your first board? an 8’ board is definetly achievable, but its going to take you a lot longer to become proficient and shorter SUPs arent as good for cruising any distance or in rougher water. Anyway if 8’ is for you, just make sure you carry the thickness all the way through the tail, if you get your hands on a CI board you will notice how boxy the tail is. If you make the board a little wider this will compensate for the loss of length without having to add to the thickness.

It’ s my first SUP, i shape many surf / kite / funboards since 15 years.

Here is the AKU preview :

Hi,

You might want to take a look at this new board of ahd: http://www.a-h-d.com/news/index.wrd?newsid=340

I am thinking of building one for myself. It would be my first project. As I will start a course on wooden boat building, I want to build this board in hollow wood.
