In 1971 the SURF SYSTEMS ‘‘NewShape’’ was a Fish design, minus the butt crack. It had an arc tail. (aka BroomTail) The NewShape was offered as a single fin, tri fin, and twin fin. The same template was used to make the SURFBOARDS HAWAII ‘‘Gemini’’, in production that same year, and was offered only as a twin fin. The design has been produced (as a Fish) in sizes ranging from 5’ 10’’ to 7’ 2’‘, with excellent results. As a blended design, an all-time favorite of mine was a BroomTail design, that was 7’ 10’’ x 21.5 ‘’, configured as a ‘‘reverse widowmaker.’’ That board was a delight at La Jolla Shores, as well a big WindanSea. Quite a versitile design.

Reverse widowmaker?
Two small sidefins, out near the corners of the tail, behind the main single fin. Someone recently called the setup a Reverse Widowmaker. I thought it was a good description.
Just watched it. Good film. Some great fish surfing. And I learned some things too.
All the best
