Fish with a winged pin tail

Has anyone taken a traditional fish design (Steve Lis or Nuuihwa), drawn in the tail measurement a little and put a rounded wing pin on it instead of the large swallow tail ? I would then think you could go for a single fin or 2+1 setup, or enen a thruster setup. I love the drive, flotation, forward wide point of my fish, but I wonder what different tails would do to the performance. Looking forward to any advice. Long live Swaylocks!

I’ve shaped thousands of those, mostly back in the 80’s. Some had double wings. Worked great… still do.

Yeah definately, I rode that style in 78-79 with twin raked keels, it ripped!! Guys used the wider tail to pull 360’s. Nowadays with the lighter matl. they would be fun as hell. Surfed 6-9’ Big Stoner’s in Matachan Bay Mex. on one!!! While there, a hot orange county guy on a Nuuhiwa Dyno-Fish was killing the place and headed south to Petacalco with only a 5’9" Dyno Fish!!

What sort of fin setups worked best ?
