howdy,
just curious. i may not be able to go to california after all because some things happened, but thats besides the point.
how do you like your home as a surfer, in florida? ive spent some time down there in the sebastian area, and really enjoyed the mellowness. My main focus is tip time, do the waves generally give you the chance to noseride.
just tell me about why you like it, why you dont like it, and anything else you can think of.
most of my time down there was during the winter and early spring, so there was fun mushy clean nose ridable swell for most of the time. but what is it like in the summer? is it even longboardable at all? are there a bunch of sharks waiting to eat you at all hours of the day, and lightning waiting to strike you when the sharks fail?
fill me in,
thankyou in advance,
Bobby
summer is flatness until hurricane season gets kickin’…then it can get really good…sometimes heavy…but always good longboardin’. when it really starts reelin’, time on the tip gets short, but it’s always more fun on a longboard. i had a couple days last hurricane season that were just freak swells…started small, and got up to the chest to head range within a few hours…perfect little tubes. sure, all the destruction kinda sucked…and being without power for weeks on end…but i still wouldn’t mind an encore this year.
off subject [not florida] …but … just to let people know …
I rode a mal today …9’2 x c22 1/2" x c 2 3/4 " [I think] , and I have to say …
fun , fun , fun !
ben
[for those wondering , that’s a VERY rare occurrence for me …thank you, Ross from the longboard shop , for lending me one …it certainly caught the little offshore raked waves better than my 5’7 greenie was doing [well, duh!]
i dont want to be too negative but Im always hungry for waves…its never enough here. Summer time means travel to hold you over - thats good cuz there’s cheap regular flights out of the state to many sweet places in CA and others. E Central FL is much more consistent but just plan on extended flat spells in the summer. Noseriding should not be a problem at spots outside of Sebastian…proly better north of the cape…we do have our moments here…pick up another hobby, I have several to choose from…
I will be negative…FLORIDA SUCKS…for waves… that said, I love it here…butt…it is always nice to leave. Usually seems to be a wave on one of the 3 sides pan, gulf, eside…gotta be willing to drive to surf around here. Besides summer is for traveling…between canes. Florida is a great place to live…have fun…
