Foam Squeegee for Glassing

Could someone please direct me to a source that sells the blue foam squeegee, like the on that Foam-EZ used to carry and has been out of stock for years on end.  This is the flexible one that many of the commercial glassers use…Or even a good comparable that will not melt down with polyester resin.  Thank You for your help

for poly lams I use the white ones from Thalco (brand name)…you can buy them online from a number of places…surfboard supply places, sometimes even on ebay… you can buy a precut one or buy a yard and cut your own size/shape…and make them more flexible by trimming, drilling, soaking etc.  Here’s a couple old threads to give you some tips & notions on both modifying them and using them better:

Fiberglass hawaii has a website with online shopping. Give them a call if you need help choosing the right type. Just say the Thalco type. The yellow ones work, but they are not the same as the bigger, thicker Thalco.

Thanks, but, we’re looking not for the thalco white rubber one, but the flexible blue on…watch what otis is using on the fiberglass hawaii site when he laminates the majenta bottom…thats the one

We already usee the thalco cream rubber squeegee…check out the fiberglass hawaii site and see what otis is using to laminate a magenta bottom with thats the one…i’m looking for…

I saw the video… that can be done with a regular squeegee… no idea where to find the blue ones you are looking for.  Good luck!

Don’t know who sells those anymore. I believe they were made by Thalco as well.

I loves how flexible they were.

Bent around the rails so good.

I’ve had good luck just thinning out the white ones.

Kinda have to foil them down.

Take an old one, with a sander, you can thin them out real good.

I put grooves in too for better grip.

Soak in some Acetone, it will soften up again.

I sometimes drill holes in mine…which makes for a good grip too.

…I use the Blue ones; I bought a very large piece years ago and this is (the one in use) the last cut; however, several months ago, I purchased very cheap yards of the White Thalco (with the name on the rubber) ones and I do not see any difference at all. In fact fella, if you think you ll have far better flex with the Blue ones, I say you do not.
Beware that there are not so White squeegees that do not say Thalco on them that there s no so good.

I run the thalcos through my bench planer. and knock them down about 33%

thank you very much everyone…i will start custom tuning the talco’s

leave in acetone for two weeks when new then always keep in acetone to keep it soft and bendy
