I think ruckusman is right , IIRC it was called a welding clamp.
here’s a better shot of it
I was planning to get some vice grip / mole grips and have them welded to a steel bar or plate , but when I saw this clamp I grabbed it, problem solved.
I found it at a local retailer , ’ Super Cheap Auto" , a DIY car buff’s supplier , obviously.
(It’s probably made in China , so yes , i’m a hypocrite.)
Removed the supplied roller timber suppports and welded up some board
shaping ends, these load straight into the 30mm x 30mm slots. Height is
adjustable and I’m making some glassing supports tomorrow.
Supercheap Auto bench vice - welded a cross piece 5mm x 50mm flat bar, with two holes drilled and tapped for bolts - again height is adjustable and the vice spins on it’s base a full 360 degrees.
apologies for the delay…can you believe I know a dozen professional camera men and none of them own small camcorders that work, so I got three broken ones to fix.
Now I have a working one, plus two GoPros.
So I’ll have three camera positions to cut from.
Will be foiling/shooting tomorrow or Friday, edit on the weekend
Jesus glad you like the stand, limited work and storage space necessitated that I had something foldable and adaptable, plus it extends to ~2m for longer boards
It’s easy to switch between shaping/glassing and they are much more stable than the drums full of concrete that I used to drag around.
