For all the Fin makers...

Ive been getting into making fins recently. Theres a pretty good market around here for custom fins. Ive already sold a few 8" center fins to a few locals. Just a few days ago somebody contacted me through facebook about having a very specifc fin made, he had a template and everything. To be a baby blue and white 9" fin. I thought no problem this should be an easy one, and as ive started working this is actually a pretty hard lam to pull off for me. The two tone he specifically asked for is hard to keep the line clean, and laying up another colored piece of fiberglass over that piece is proving difficult.  Ive only done clear or single solid color fins. He didnt need it in a rush so i have a few days do get this done for him . Ill attach a test panel i made out of some scrap 10oz i had kicking around.

My new plan is this

lay up 4 or 5 pieces of fiberglass

Pour on the blue or white, let it sit and saturate for a bit and squeegee off the excess. Use a little lam roller and roll out all the bubbles.

Do the same with the opossing color, hopefully any overpour can be squeegeed off the other color. Roll out with a little lam roller

Let cure, and use clear fiberglass over the inner colored panel on either side until its the desired thickness.

Im pretty sure this will work, but id rather have the whole fin be a nice solid color instead of having the clear fiberglass around it.

Any ideas on how to approach this?

Im pretty sure you need to let it harden or at the very least get pretty tacky when going from one color to the next.
