I’ve started a 5’10" retro fish shape I plan to finish with measurements 16"-21.5"-16.5" and wondering of what kind of size people are using for a reasonable tail width and crack width. . Also how far up does the cut out come, I was thinking 6-8 inches. I am unable to measure at a shop since there are none around here so some rough size would be great help. thanks
Hey dave,
I aint no Guru, but they usually are a minimum of 10 inches between the tips. Mine are closer to 12 inches. A lot of people make the crack depth one/half the tip to tip distance. So do I, but have made them up to 6 1/2 inches deep. Mike
i’d go five or six deep.
I pretty much do it the same as rooster.
thanks guys thats pretty much what i needed to hear, i had no clue where to start.
I read somewhere that it’s not really a “Fish” if it’s not at least 9" from tip to tip on the tail…pleskunas? Pavel? Frye? Lis? …Can’t remember who said it.
lis said that he would know
I thought he said 10 inches. But, Ive been telling my wife…never mind. Mike
