" four ....!! "

Have youe ever tried running your fish with a single fin?

Hi Ben,

I’m curious about the function of the electric cord. Does it light up your wetsuit and do you have problems with it unplugging while you are surfing? I won’t ask ‘where’ you plug it in. Mike

"…this one shot is proof enough of how hardcore Ben is: Ben was recently attacked by a 20’ white shark while surfing his home break in Perth and the shark ripped out both his legs… Many would have quit surfing after such a tragedy. But not Ben! Says he: “I still have my arms to paddle out, mate… And I used to have two legs, but now I have four fins instead…”

Nice twinzer ben!

I finally got to look at one of those new stretch quads two days ago: here are some placement measurements if someone wants to try ( know i want to make one eventually):

5’10"

19" wide (very forward of center)

15" tail (very straight outline)

rear fin 6" from tail (trailing edge) 1 1/4 from rail

front fin 11 1/2" from tail 2" from rail

both fins had 1/4" of toe

yes , plenty of times !!

(That’s what it started out as , for three months , in fact … )

The board I made this out of was a 6’4" winged swallowtail “Strapper” single fin . Unfortunately , the bottom of it was absolutely CARNAGED …so I had to strip and reshape it .

…I am STILL intrigued as to why everyone goes the twin keel option . Fishes I have surfed have been singles first …then , I’ve added options.

Fish as single fins are GREAT !

…just my opinion and experience …

ben

he’s ALIVE !!!

HI Skels !!

thanks for that info …good to have “the real thing” measurements !!

ben

look forward to hearing from you again !

Question: “what is the white thing in the middle that seems to connect to your (?) nose?”

George

PS. what kind of condition were you in when you drilled those front fin, fin plug holes, mate?

A misplaced [by a mate] fin box …I had to shorten the board to enable correct thruster setup. The “white bit” is unpainted foam.

I was good , my mate [who drilled the holes] had the wrong sized hole saw [ and revs] … Live and learn eh ?

hi George !

here’s a better shot , showing what "the white thing " is …
