Frye/Mabile/Hall Fishimmons feedback

Not a lot of info regardinng these boards to be found on sways, found a megladon(think that's what larmo called them at KG) thread but not much more. Seem to range from 7-12ft. Any info would be great regarding what size and fin setup has worked best for you.  Seem to be a good choice for point and shoot surfing, in small fast waves. With that wide tail i bet ou could go shorter than a pintail eagle and still get the same wave catching ability..

Cheers

I know Mabile makes the minis as short as 4’11" - calls them White Ponies. Twin keels with knifey down rails. Check his new website for additional detail.

I have a 6´4 whitepony shaped by Larry which I love.

This board would replace my 11´6 that my freind shaped which is just too heavy/big/long. Wasn't sure if I was ever going to paddle a surfboard again when we put it together. Now that i'm back on track I'm looking for something in the 9-10ft range for milking small zippers.

Anyone shaped/surfed anyting similar too Larry's big swallowtails or Skip's fishsimmons?

like this? 9’6’’ island influence swallow single. lots of fun and fast moving. was my daily board till recently.

Hey, Steiny.

Probably would work great as a single, but some of the spots I surf are very shallow and a deep singlefin might not make it over some boulders. Maybe a fin set up like this would work ok.

Hey, Steiny

Sweet board is that your fry fishsimmons? Josh Hall is in Europe at the moment so I jumped at the chance to have him shape me one from a 9´8 tripple stringer blank. The glider my friend shaped worked ok but the whole process of gathering info/designing and shaping took close to 28months, so I wen't with Josh this time. Dirt cheap and fast compared to having it shipped and taxed to europe.

what dims is that orange baby?

no. not mine. i wish it was- belongs to a friend. i rode a friends 10'10" Josh Hall last night. Very very cruisey. Have fun with your new board!

Love these long, flat gliding super cruisers. Takes some trial and error to figure out how to turn them, but the glide is amazing. Turning out of a wave and cruising 15 yards across flat water is pretty surprising. Just paddling one you can feel it… glide. Hard not to use that term.

I dumped a sweet Farberow model Anderson log immediately after trying a glider.

double post - whoops

If youre not a noserider and just looking for speed, early entry and connecting sections, I think one of Larry's or Josh/Skip's boards are a good alternative. The 11'6 Matti shaped was too heavy/big almost a SUP, a real workout just getting that thing in the water, let alone surfing it, hehe.

With the wider swallowtail of the fishsimmons I think you could maybe go shorter and still retain some of the glide and early entry of a longer eagle outline.Fishsimmons in the 9-9'6ft range with a thruster set up could be a good compromise of glide, paddle power and still be easier to turn/surf than the 10-12ft gliders.

Here is Josh with the shaped board, should be glassed and shipped by the end of the week.
