All surf reports were calling North Shore to be flat to 2 feet… Buoys were telling us different and there were some overhead sets and only 3 of us out! Very clean and fun!! We were just having a blast for a few hours before others started to figure it out… Some pictures of a very fun morning in some small waves… All pictures were taken by Spencer Suitt… Thanks Spence!!!
Derek Agaran… He has only one eye. He lost the other surfing a while ago… He does well with one eye!
He’s riding one of my models… A 10’ x 27" x 4-1/8"… He likes it…
Our friend Adam on a Munoz 10’-6" Glide model…
The last time he surfed was at least 6 months ago… He’s still got it!
You could go left or right… Splitting peaks all morning…
The rights were good to… This is a 9’-4" x 27" x 4-1/8"… This board works better than all my prototypes…
Sequence…
I got the nose back out but still didn’t pull it… Oh well… Still trying to learn this move…
Derek back dooring a nice overhead smoking left…
The waves were a treat…
The fact that no one was around made it that much better…
Buoy still has solid readings so tomorrow should be more of the same… Ahwoooooo!!!
Nice shots! I should have gone to the Country instead of Town this weekend. Derek look nice and trim; he seems to have that SUP style down pretty well. I just realize that he surfs goofy-foot.
I think I have fallen arches in my feet which is limiting my SUP paddling time. I want to see if there is a way to put arch supports in a pair of fishing tabis (Japanese fishing shoes). You guys look like you are having too much fun and I want some of that too.
I was speaking to Tracey (skinny SUP guy with a 12’ Munoz) at Waikiki yesterday and he was having some problems with his arches too. I guess it just not a old fat guy problem.
Hahahaha!!! Very funny… Today was really fun at Laniakea at head high… Here’s a few more from yesterday… Uncle D, my feet hurt too! Everyone’s feet hurt… When you surf you move around more so feet get less sore from standing in one spot… We go surf!!!

Theres a guy I surf with here that wears “crocs”. A very comfy shoe that drains really well and supports your feet. Ive worn my “chaco’s” on a few long runs and they seem to help, but I dont know if Id wear them surfing.
Uncle D… YES! There is a way to put arch supports in. I used to own a Running store and did it in runnings shoes. I’m now a Chiropractor and do it in all sorts of foot wear. The arch supports (orthotics) that I make now wuold work fine in a pair of tabis. Do you now have orthotics to correct your feet? Copy the amount of wedge that it has, grind down some firm 1/4" neoprene (rubber?) to match and glue into your tabis!
