funboard 7'6

Hi

i’m in the middle of designing  my 7’6 funboard

i’m looking for info about the wide point, how much should it be from the mid point.

and if i go with staged rocker , where should the mid point of the flattened mid third should be Relative to the wide point of the board .

thanks

shahar

Where will you be surfing this board ?       What are your dimensions ?        Not the board.      Height, weight, experience.      All of that is part of the ‘‘equation.’’       Help us, to help you.

you are absolutely right ,

i’m 90 kilo, 1.86 m.

i will surf in israel , 1 to 1.5 meter wave not strong, more like  steeper wave

my only experience is kite surfing with surf board(more than ten years)  and sup .

thanks ,

shahar

We’re about the same size.       The board I’d make would be 7’ 6’’ long, by 22 or 23inches wide, with the WP 5 inches behind center.     The board would have a 17 inch nose, and be a squaretail, with a 7 inch square.        The design would be very similar to a Phil Edwards model, but the wider tail would improve smaller wave performance.     Hope that helps you.

Thanks Bill Thrailkill,

When you say “behind the center” you mean 5 inch to the nose direction?

i upload a screen shot , am i in the right way?

 thanks agsain.

Behind the center, refers toward the tail.      The true Phil Edwards model, is in fact a modified Pig.       This board, if you build it, will be too.        Frankly, there is NOTHING wrong with the planshape you’ve posted.     Very eye pleasing, in my opinion.     There is no reason I can think of why you should not build it, as you’ve rendered it.       Use 2.5 inch tail rocker, and 3.75 inch nose rocker.     My strong suggestion is that you make it a single fin.       You’ll have fun with this one.
