Funshape dimension suggestions

I’m building my first board with epoxy + EPS, and would like your input about the dimensions I’m thinking about.

Me:

Weight- 210 lbs + westuit

Height- 6’5"

Skill- Beginner progressing to intermediate (i.e. Can catch waves, bottom turn, but nothing fancy)

Type of Waves: Mostly Pacific Northwest beachbreak, so not very big and I guess could be described as mushy

The proposed board:

8 foot funshape, 3 1/4" thick, 3 3/4" nose rocker, 3 1/8" tail rocker. For the outline, I was thinking 21 1/2" wide, 16 3/4" at nose and 14 1/8" at tail (rounded square). No channels or vees or anything fancy, as I seriously doubt I’d be able to make use of them anyway at my skill level. 9 or 10 inch single fin.

I’ve surfed an 8 footer before and I liked the length, although the flotation could’ve been a bit better. Would 3 1/4" thickness EPS provide enough flotation? The best board I’ve surfed so far has been a 9’ 0" Midget Smith, but my foam is 8 feet long and I’d rather not introduce structural discontinuities by chopping pieces off and re-gluing it to the ends.

I’m basically looking for feedback about the above dimensions. The thickness, rocker, outline, fin size and number of fins are readily changeable, but I’d like to keep the length at 8 feet unless most of you feel that a 9 footer would be much better.
