can someone tell me at what point (after what grit) and how do you apply future/mopnglo? I put a little (future)on a board to test it out and it dried pretty dull.

I put a little (future)on a board to test it out and it > dried pretty dull. …A lite coat with future is key.Put the coat on with a piece of dampen T-shirt.PUT IT ON THIN,AND WITH AN EVEN STROKE FROM NOSE TO TAIL WITH A CONTINOUS MOTION,DONOT STOP OR RE-WIPE IN THE MIDDLE, KEEP THE LINE CONTINIOUS,right off the ends.let dry throughly.Sand in the same lengthwise fasion with a course brown scotch brite pad.You can repeat the coat and scrub 2 or 3 times if desired,BUT THIN GUY!!!Now you are going to have a sanded finished look(dull), if you want it to be glossy, just coat the future with car wax or surfboard polish, let dry,and rub it out by hand or with a grinder at very, very, very low speeds(under a grand)(by hand is good enough). If you do this right it should look glossy.Herb

thanks Herb. I thought it was supposed to dry to a high gloss finish, but it doesn’t sound like to much less work than buffing the gloss coat out. does it seal up pinholes at all?
thanks Herb. I thought it was supposed to dry to a high gloss finish, but > it doesn’t sound like to much less work than buffing the gloss coat out. > does it seal up pinholes at all? …Yeah, for the most part,as long as it’s not extremely holey(or large holes, deep scratches,or very exposed weave). The polish/wax adds even more + it ends the dirty finger print stuff that a “sand out finish only” will get.Herb

IT’S LESS MESSY/NOISY,timewise it’s a little quicker for sure.it’s a little lighter(not really enough to make a big difference). In some respects it’s stronger.I say this because if you over wetsand your gloss and/or heat the finish up a little too much in the polishing department, it weakens the integrity of the glass job by making it softer/thinner.I personally like the feel of a sand finish over a gloss in the water,it tends to static cling less than a gloss will, especially on shorter boards.Herb
