All my shortboards have futures fins. I recently noticed that some set screws that came with some new boxes don’t fit boxes i installed in boards 2-3 year ago. These new set screws have a coarser thread pattern and fit the new futures boxes. Anyone know anything about this? Is it a one time transition?
I was shown that the newer boxes can be ID’d by some wording stamped on the inside bottom of the fin box (can’t recall what it says at the moment). These use a different slightly coarser threaded set screw (supplied). Somehow I’ve already managed to mix up my small stock at home. My fault but irritating. My 40yo+ eyeballs have difficulty to differentiate the new screws/old screws/old boxes/new boxes
The new boxes have “10-24 MADE IN USA + 7 Digit Part No. ?” molded in the inside bottom of the box. The older boxes used 10-32 screws and the inside surface of the box is bare.

thanks guys that squares with what i discovered. and yeah the boxes have 10-24 stamped. worth being aware of if you have new and old boards with futures boxes…the set screws aren’t the same.
