G&S Info Request

I recently picked up a 7'2" G&S -- diamond tail (slight), single fin, no leash plug.  The lam reads "Gordon & Smith" (not the classic rectangular red/white/black lam) . The inscription on the stringer reads "7075 CK 7'2"".  Any information that can be gleaned from the lam/inscription (age, shaper, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Pics would be helpful.

Mike

here you go

Looks like it has down rails in the nose?

The serial # probably doesn’t mean anything. See the zillion previous threads I’ve posted on that subject. There was a time around 1970 when the shapers were initialing or putting their names on the boards. Then Larry put a stop to it because the dealers were requesting certain shapers (one would say the wanted all their boards by Paul, another wanted John Holley, etc.)

Can’t remember a CK. Sam Cody? I know you’re lurking. Call me or e me and I’ll post it. I remember a Chuck shaping but what was his last name?

I’d put the board at fall of '69 or early '70 based on the following:

The size. Boards went a foot shorter by Spring of '70 (the Li’l Gypsy).

The sticker,

The look of the glass job and the pinline.

The Bahne (Fins Unlimited) finbox and what looks like the original fin.

Does it have a slight vee? Is the rocker pretty straight except for the nose? I’m guessing yes.

A tip to anyone who wants information on old boards. Photos such as this give just enough info to make a wild guess. A photo showing the rocker, and good shot of the tail. a better shot of the nose showing the rail and an actual shot of the serial # would have been more of a help.

Thanks for the info...Here is the last pic I have handy.  Just took the wax off and will post better pics (rocker etc.) when I get a chance.
