As for the rest, pretty much in agreement. Concern for thai and chinese labour is questionable from a country which has it’s own history in labour exploitation, but heck, some folk call me socialist…
Exactly the point. Illegal immigration ( outsourcing without having to outsource) and Asian labor is only a substitute for slavery or what big business can’t get away with in it’s own borders. Big business wants more poor people to work in it’s factories…Not fewer poor people. Their markets are the rich nations and their means are the poor labor of the third world nations. What is the answer? Who really knows.
As for myself, I like riding way up there, a bit crouched surf-skate style, with only 2 feet of board in front of me, trimming and turning up and down the wave from the nose, racing sections, getting drifted sideways by them, going around them and up the face…
Well if it all gets too much we can always turn to the new sport of extreme ironing. . . it has a lot in common with noseriding actually, like an emphasis on style at all costs , and of course the shape of the ironing boards themselves resemble noseriders !
Roy, seriously, you need to get a sailboard. You like speed? Well a sailboard is all about speed. 60-70 kmph is the norm for a decent slalom board. Higher for the high wind boards. That will make your beard flap!!
