General ding repair using Suncure

Am doing some small bottom/rail repairs on a gloss finish board. Using Suncure products. I’ll give a brief step by step of what I’ve done so far and any corrections would be welcome.

Removed damaged material/ sanded/taped off areas.

Applied Suncure laminating resin w/Q cell to areas needed.

Cure/sanded.

Applied two layers(I think 6 oz.) to ares, sanded.

O.K. here comes  the question(s)

First off explain “hotcoat”.Is it the same as the Suncure sanding resin coat?

Since I have applied the lam coat w/ cloth, should I apply the sanding resin w/ more cloth?

Or should I apply a coat of the sanding resin over the lam coat and sand? What grit should I use on the sanding coat? If I should use the sandind coat at all?

Finally, the board has a gloss finish. How do I bring back the gloss finish?

Any step by step vids or instruction would be great.

Thanks for your time.

after the lam is cured and blended

do the hot/sand coat no cloth just resin

let cure then sand with 100 grt

gloss is your choice ,,, you could just spray a automotive clear or

use Gloss resin then sand and polish

good luck,, and have fun

One thing I used to do with the suncure ding repair you can at any surfshop, is to put just enough of the resin mix in the ding then lay a piece of saran wrap over and smooth out the resin. When it’s cured the patch is finished, smooth and glossy. With suncure resin it’s done in minutes.

Nowadays, I cut glass cloth up into tiny shredded pieces and mix it into resin to create the same thing. You get a thick gel like mix.
