Hi everyone. I´m from Argentina and i have the itch to build my own surfboard, although i never ride a wave in my life. The thing: to get core and glassing materials in the argentina is difficult. I´m not talkin about the “what goes better: the sp115 or the %$/&%&/%&/ system resin” stuff, simply i cant find the materials right here. If someone of you have been in Argentina and have been building surfboards here, please give me an advise. C ya. Idiotboxie.

Just yesterday I saw a board from Ireland. It was the 23rd board to be produced there. The label was,“Legend” and was suprisingly done quite well. It’s great to see boards coming from other countries. At any rate have fun!Herb.

Isn’t Patagonia surfboards based in Argentina? (Hence the name?) Patagonia is an epoxy builder. They used to sell styorofoam blanks, probably out of Buenos Aires. I’ve also read of other surfboard builders in and around Buenos Aires. If you can get your hands on a polyurethane blank and fiberglass, you can laminate with boat resin, as long as it is laminating resin with no wax. Not pretty, but functional. Then add wax, pigment and styrene for for sanding and hotcoating. -Noodle
