GHunt - 9'8"

Gregg, Can you let me know the basic dimensions on the green 9’8" recently posted in the resources? I’ll be working on a longboard soon and I’d like to try to shape a 10’ with a similar outline. Also - is the wide point forward? Thanks, Eric J

Greg, damn fine work Quick questions on the glassing! Are you going with one layer on the deck + plus the deck patch?? Do you go with 8oz or 10oz. Great work. Drew

The green board is 9’8 x 18 3/4 x 23 1/2 x 15 1/4 x 3, wide point forward about 6”. Eric, if you want, email me and I can forward you outline specs for that board which was created in Illustrator. Drew, glassing is one layer each side plus the patch or another full layer. Typically either 8 or 10 oz. is used. To net a heavier board, a wider stringer may be an alternative to doubling the glass top and bottom. http://www.epicphotos.com

Thanks Gregg - I just emailed you. The illustrator file would be a great frame of reference. This’ll be my first longboard attempt. Blank is the 10’1"Y. Any help is greatly appreciated. Eric J http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=46238

thanks for responding. Very nice boards I must say. I too ceate all my outlines in Illustrator. Was wondering whay tou do after you have the outline finalised. I myself split the template straigth down the stringer on the Illustrator File and print it out and Tile it together. I then lay it on one half the board, trace and flip over to the other half. Thanks for the inspiration

Drew, Using the ruler in the program you can note where the lines intersect then indicate that onto the board that’ll be your template. So if you don’t want to use the printer and lay out tiles, you can make points at every foot. At every 3" near the tighter curves (nose & tail). There’s a consistent curve over those dots and they can be connected with a long piece of thin cedar.
