Glass in plug hole

Hey guys,

Is it a good idea to strenghten the hole made for fin plugs by lining the bottom and sides with fibreglass?

Alternatively, if I want to drill an area where there had been plugs removed, and the resulting hole filled with filler/hot coat resin and Cabosil, would it be a better idea to coat the surface of the new hole (which would be mostly hot coat and cabosil rather than foam) with fibreglass and then set the plugs.

Obviously with idea to create the best bond and strength.

Stevo

Stevo- Howzit . I think you will have easier time using milled fibers hence milled fiberglass. They should have it at your fiberglass shop . I use the stuff to set my boxes . I used to use cloth but found that milled fibers work really well . Trick - Kick off slow so plugs do not heat up . also stay on it w/a popsicle stick -keep working out airbubbles as the foam will drink up a bit of resin . Aloha Petey
