glass on fins

hopefully this is an easy question. i was wondering if they make glass on fins thinner to compensate for the layers of glass you use to attach them.

a few llayers of glass will really not make any difference on fin performance

Take a look at the foil of the fins before you glass them on.  If they are foiled well then this is pretty much what you will want to duplicate when you sand them.  Pay attention to the trailing edge; a acouple of layers of glass will make this area fat. If you look at a set of high end Future fins, this would be an example of what you will want to achive in the end.

Two layers of glass will not effect the fins too much, you just have to get in there and foil them back!

thank guys. i was really talking about longboard single fins. witch are a little bigger and fatter as is and in my experience require a little more layering than shortboard fins. but if you think as long as i foil it back down i should be good that makes me happy to hear.

Never heard of that as a concern.    Fact is, you're better off with a thicker fin anyway.   Foiled, of course.
