Should you glass the bottom or the top of the board first
Bottom
The norm AFAIK is to glass the bottom first, then deck. If you want cutlaps on the deck that’s the way to go. You can also do a ‘reverse lam’, deck first than bottom. Greg Loehr said he had success with this on epoxy boards, but I don’t think there are any reasons for not doing it with polyester boards. If you see a polyboard with cutlaps on the bottom, they’re propably done this way. I just did an epoxy board this way without any other than the usual screwups. Good luck. regards, Håvard
wELL, IF you do a resin tint, you will see the cutlaps. regards, Håvard

We do reverse layups when there is airbrush on the deck that we don’t want to mar. Many guys in Fl. do this even with poly. Generally though, we do laminate bottoms first.
