Gloss coat & wax question

I have just finished wet sanding my board with 600 grit paper and was wondering what # grit i should end on before using buffing compound. also what kind of buffing compound should i use to get it to shine? thanks!

You can start compound after 600 if you did a good job working your way up to 600. You 600 should not have any trace of scratches from your 220 or too many from your 400 because compound will take a while to get those out and my not even take them out completely. Go to boat builders supply wherehouse or a car paint store and they have compounds for fiberglass boat or car parts. Use a #2 compound to finish it up.
