Gloss Coat?

I’m a lightly confused about gloss coats. Do I hot coat, sand, then gloss coat, sand, and polish or is the gloss coat in place of your normal hot coat? And if its how I think it is what do I sand the hot coat to before gloss coating?

You had it right the first time. Sand to 100 grit. 150 for areas to get pinlined.

…and then, after the gloss, sand it up to at least 600 before polishing
