First time trying a gloss coat. Question is this, to what grit do I sand the hot coat to? Thanks in advance

First time trying a gloss coat. Question is this, to what grit do I sand > the hot coat to?>>> Thanks in advance …When I gloss I usually sand to 180,but 80 will do if you are not pin-lining,if you are, then do the area where the lines go with 180/220/320,no 80 in this area at all.Herb

so you do pinlines first and then gloss coat? Can you do another type of painting in between the hot coat and gloss coat? If so, with what kind of paint?

As always, a fountain of information. Thanks man

If so, with what kind of > paint? …Yes,you can paint inbetween the sanding coat, and the gloss, water based acrylics like liquitex works fine or zig pens/posca pens, airbrush.Watch the amount of paint, not so much in area(that’s important too),but in thickness. The thicker the paint, the more problems may arise.Herb
