As a docent for SHACC (formerly SHF) I'll be working the California Gold Vintage Surf Auction this coming Saturday.
It's looking to be quite an event.
Anybody planning on attending?

Make sure to check this out even if your not going to the auction because of the proximity. Kid (Dave) Ramos is one of the most talented people I have ever known and since I have known him for about 40 years, I am proud to call him my friend, as well as his wife Linda. I wll be there, at least for a little while because I have to go to a wedding near there. All you guys check out his music, and who he has played with and you will changed. He rocks, and he has it. I love the man and his family. I can’t keep the tears out of my eyes as I remember him when he really was a kid playing in the same garage I started making surfboards in, and everything in between. Seriously, He is a great man, and one of the best guitarists of all time.

I love that man, and his family; he is a great human, which is far too rare in this world.

“Greasy Kid Stuff,” I’ll stop now, but since its going to be so close to the auction, it will be a twofer.
I watched all the vids and i wish i was there,
Stoked you did. To have that much talent and be so humble is rare. I admire the man. And his wife Linda had a couple of shots in “Skateboarder” back in the day. Back then she could cause a trainwreck just walking by the tracks.
Those are some no-joke chops…
I would never take part in any event that Rarick or Scott Bass had a hand in.
I like both of those guys. Rarick played an important role in the shortboard revolution, getting Brewer to cut down a blank, and Scott, he pioneered the Surfermag internet forum, and saw me get tubed as anyone ever has, and most haven’t. Still, I will be going to the fairgrounds in support of my friend Kid Ramos and the surf auction is just another that just happens to be at the fairgrounds. https://www.facebook.com/KidRamosMusic
How much they payin' you ??

A number of the boards offered were interesting, and a great many others were not.(just me) Some of the restoration work was quite astounding. Both Jim Phillips and Sam Cody delivered tour de force craft and artistry in that area. It appeared that all ‘‘the usual suspects’’ were in attendance. Always fun to bump into old friends. I did not stay for the full show, but did see a Tom Blake paddle board sell for $20,000 dollars! It may have cost Blake as much as 30 bucks to make it, back in the day. Interesting times, eh?
