Obiwon!
SHOW ME MORE!!!
super instructive and i can’t wait to see what else comes with it
Most impressive thing in that video, for me anyway:
The way he handles the razor at the end. Smooth.
Pat
SuperCool! give me more
Hi Pat -
Obviously you have not seen Lee Vanderhurst cut laps. He has developed a mysterious telekinetic method that maybe only Darthvader and Obiwon can appreciate. It’s kind of spooky…
even more incredible than telekinesis… he also manages to cut with the blade facing up!
I’m impressed.
Pat
cutting a inlay in one swoop of the blade was how i was taught is how it was to be done!
starting and stoping only leads to kinks or f ups in the cut…when i was learning i was like ok so thats standerd every one must do it like that…
then i got to my first opaque and asked him how am i suposed to cut that out i cant see the tape…“use the force he says” its done mostly by feel seeing it just tells our minds its ok.
It gets easier once you learn to stop using your arm and hand to make the cut and become one with the razor.

Howzit Darth, I was taught the same way, no stopping while cutting.Aloha,Kokua
If you think of it, isn’t that how the whole board is built? From the lam, to the hotcoater, sander and polisher. No stopping. Clean even strokes!!
Is this going to be some kind of tutorial video like Glassing 101 or is it going to be more along the lines of what glassers get up to behind the scenes.
My kids justed watched the ( Surf’s Up) animated mockumentary.
If you can get over the Penguins doing a (North Shore) imitation the shaping a wood board part is a hoot.
Long even strokes, let the tool do the work.Just flow with it.No! No! Let me do it.
If you have kids rent it.
It is way better than I though,
Ian
its going to be like nothing ever seen or shown before…the unexplained explained…not a tutorial but if you pay attention you will learn the gamet!
an a bunch of guys that are doing the board building thing for a living let people know whats really going on.
we are taking back the surf industry
