Good Blank/stuff Supplier

I am sure this subject has been brought up… but any info would be appreciated at current times.

I shape boards out of a hole in my garage for myself and some friends… i would like to know of some cheap suppliers closest to Long Island, NY. I glass and shape all of my own stuff so shipping costs are a factor.

I have used fiberglasssupply.com and foamez.com (ripoff) but would liek to try something new.

THanks and pray for east coast surf

hey ny- im in the same boat, and in the same location. ive got no interest in big production, just having fun. if you are interested in ordering supplies together, post your email and ill write you. ive been using clark blanks / resin research epoxy, but im open to almost any new or different materials.

hope to hear from you

john

Every Long Islander on here- post and name, your location, and your local break.

Tom, Islip, RM5 (and my secret spot) here.

I have an order to make- lets order blanks together.

Not LI, but I’m there all the time.

Eric, Harrison (Lower Westchester) - I’ll gladly drive to pickup. No local break - obviously - but surfed Long Beach and other spots E&W for the last 20+ years.

Been using Fiberglasssupply, for blanks, cloth, & Solarez. and RR Epoxy. They’ve been very good to me.

Need - right now have blanks so don’t need them. If gang-ordering other supplies - interested in - Solarez, RR epoxy (3 or 5 Gal.) and 4.0z cloth -

Eric J

Trevor, Garden City, Long Beach areas

I use polyester resin and clark blanks, just recently started using the UV powder mix-in but forgot where i ordered it from.

Dear NYgarageshaper -

Please define “ripoff”…

I’ve dealt with FoamEZ and found them to be A-OK. Brad was also kind enough to generously contribute a bunch of free stuff for S.A. 2003 raffle.

This might not be the best place to post unsubstantiated slams against a reputable supply dealer?

im glad to see so many interested long islanders. how about instead of posting full names we just post email addresses- that way we can take this nonsense off the sway. i love this site and its a great place to get introduced, but i hate to take up other peoples space and time.

heres mine- jpofarrell@hotmail.com

tom from islip- we surf the same places; im sure i’d recognize you

john

oh yeah- next central long island surfrider mtg is june 18th.

Rip-off may not be the best term- for it, I hear overly expensive often, as noone i work with will go down there, he has a decent supply of stuff, just the prices i hear the most complaints of. I do know a few people who dont like the attitude/vibe down there, but theres other places for them.

Their retail prices are clearly listed. If someone finds better prices somewhere else, they can shop there.

Let’s say you have a shop and set a price on an item. I choose to purchase the item at that price. I pay and you deliver on the item.

Sounds legit to me.

Orange County isn’t the cheapest place in the world to operate a business.

All shipments are insured for full value.

Brad has a great selection, offers “one-stop” material shopping and will work hard to set things right if there’s a problem.

Check their website. It’s all spelled out pretty clearly in FAQs:

http://www.foamez.com/

I can get you research resin and blanks. All you have to do is drive to South Jersey to pick up. Blanks are cheap and so is the resin. We cut the blanks to what you need! Email me if interestead.
