Good shaper for Indonesi

Hi!!

I would like to order a board for Indonesia and also use it like all round board. I was thinking in the C-bucket from Christenson but the board dosen´t have enought rocker for the indo waves.

Is any good shaper out there who make a similar board than C-bucket with more rocker?

Someone know who was doing the glassing work on McCallum boards?? I heard the guy made the glassing is also a good shaper.

Cheers

The green/yellow board from the second picture is the C-bucket, looks like super flat board… Don´t think will work in those Indo waves in low tide ;(

You could always call Christenson and ask him to build you a C Bucket for Indo.

…McCallum has more than one glasser. Villalobos is one of them, but I think he s not a shaper.

If you’re going to hit Bali first, I think the best deal would be to buy a used board there - cheaper - more likely to work in those waves and you save the airline board bag cost one way.

Conventional ‘‘wisdom’’ is that a 10’ 5’’ surfboard with 4 inch nose rocker, and 3 inch tail rocker, can not be ridden successfully at Pipeline (6 to 10 foot Hawaiian).      Yet I’ve done it quite easily(1963), as have many others.       Those same nose and tail rockers,(or even lower) on a shorter board, (like the one you are considering) will be way easier to deal with.     I’m sure you don’t need an ‘‘Elf Shoe’’ style board to be successful.     All that said, go with what makes you feel confident and comfortable.

would seriously consider making it a 2 +1 ,single with side bites, straight singles feel good in barrel.but in indo you need the ability to rail to rail to gain speed to make the waves…seen guys trying to ride retro singles just getting left behind,if you do go single fin  maybe the flatter the better ,more drive out of flat rocker,.or even consider a  6 channel , more squirt…not so neutral…

Hi guys!!

Thanks a lot for all the answers

The best idea like Artz said is call to Chris and ask him if he can make the right rocker for Indo

I been in Indonesia almost 7 times and don´t like to buy boards there, I preffer to work with a good shaper and give him a bit of business against the big companies, also normally I leave my boards in Bali at my friend´s house for the next years…

About the McCallum glasser I´m trying to know who is the first guy, the guy was before Villalobos…

Cheers
