Got a pop-out question for you guys....

At the last UCSD Cancer Center Longboard Luau, I was talking to Wingnut before our heat and he was riding what I thought was one of his new (at the time) Surftech (I thought) models. I can’t find it anywhere on the Surftech site, and I thought that’s who he worked for, so I was pretty sure it was a Surftech. It wasn’t one of those old Robert August models, it was a very clean looking board, with no fancy graphics or anything. If anyone knows the board I’m talking about, please pipe up! Thanks.

it probably was one of his models in a T2 format as they don’t use colors often with that layup…

wouldn’t be surprised if wasn’t riding a T2 longboard

Spend enough time around Santa Cruz and you’ll find plenty of Surftech oddities.

I don’t think they really have the ability to do one-offs in their manufacturing…but I’ve heard lots of buzz about some freebagging in SC for prototypes. And I also agree with Oneula - they come in white or white. Or you can have yours in white.

Is T2 same as TL2?

Found pix on Surftech website of the Wingnut “signature” board. Is that it?

Nope, I already saw all those. It was a 9’6", nice and thin, and the deck was a solid orangey/yellow color, with the bottom and rails all white (the white wrapped around from the bottom to the top, leaving a bout 2" of white all around the deck…So it kind of looked like a full deck fabric inlay would look.

I think that’s the first time I’ve heard the term “freebagging” used the way you just did. Love it. -Carl
