Green board

So I just finished my first board. a 10’7" monster with a sweet tail block. The only thing is that the resin seems really green. Not a bright green, but when I put something up to it thats what, my board looks like its sea sick. Did I just put the resin on to rich?

Ah…did you use heavy cloth, say 10 ounce or so? Most of that has the Volan treatment on it , which tends to make the light reflect kinda greenish, like a very pale green tint. It’s normal and in fact rather traditional.

hope that’s of use

doc…

No, actually I used 6 oz E cloth. With Resin from Fiberglass supply.

What resin did you use? resins with a blue tint often have that color due to the use of cobalt as a promoter. Some boat or general purpose resins tend to turn from blue to green as they cure. And some laminating resins have a greenish-blue tint to start with. The thicker you lay it on, the more of that color you will see.
