GREEN Foam-Like really......green-----------------foam

So you can get colored foam US Blanks. I thought i’d try one and see what resin color

does over colored foam…

Yes, this is my shaping room.

Yes, brake rotor shaping weight. No, I do not advise bottom rail bands all the way to the nose.

Yes, I am a novice.

Yes, your tools will turn green…

Hella GREEN yo…

In this day/age of “Going Green” I think I’ve done my part as far as shaping goes…much pun intended…

Even got a green longboard in there, and no (disclaimer) I did not ride it with that fin, it was left in my yard.

Interesting shaping the color. Got used to it pretty quick though. It did leave strange dark/light spots

while shaping, probably due to my beginner-ness, but pretty visibly weird. Sanding blemish or pour

marks, not quite sure. Anyway, most came out and not visible after glassing…

Juss wanted to share a possibility for y’all color heads out there. I first thought the color foam was experts

only cause of scars I got, but if yer careful/experienced, I think its kinda cool. I’ve seen some half-n-half

colored foam (half blue foam, half white foam, etc.)

boards with resin color that look in-sane. Gotta order two at a time, maybe go in with a friend or some

crap, but it’s kinda fun. Lots ‘o’ possibilities… Laminate photos comin next.

Thanx fer yer time...

Keep ‘em comin’ … I like what I see

Green is the new (corporate) crack. Or is that the new black?

Ive got a magenta blank waiting in my shaping room!

I thought it would be a dark magenta…but its almost pink…im kind of cared of it now…especially scared of the dust itll throw all over my white blanks!!!

very cool

Hey eh. Be careful with the pink. (heh heh) I’ve heard stories of old about

colored dust hangin’ out in the shop for years.

And thanx for the stoke. Yer boards are there man, there…

Thats a really nice base for some subtle resin swirl work!

I had a go with a psychedelic swirly foam one time and went cross-eyed trying to find the lines, but a solid colour would be cool.

So funny to see this. So appropriate to another thread running here about grandma’s peanut butter sandwiches. My very first board back in 1963 was a Jacobs that had been painted white. After removing the paint, guess what. The foam was green!! Really. I haven’t seen one since. Must have been some kind of experiment. Nice job on your shape, and yes, the dust gets everywhere. I’m in the middle of a chambered wood board now and the entire bay is covered with a fine tan powder. Major cleanup.

Ride on,

Tom

This is pretty sick. I emailed Ty at Marko foam asking if he’s gonna this route.

Clear resin with blue and green tint and some yellow opaque. Not the best but kinda trippy…

Clear with white stripe that makes it look like it buckled or broke in half, (HA!-whoops) and blue

hurricane/galaxy nose with clear stars/planets things.

I like this part. I get to stare at this waiting for sets. Wow MAN…

The foam is almost sparkly, especially under the tints. Cool effect.

Overall good experience. Wasn’t too into it while shaping, but after glass I think I may try some

more down the road.Seen some Bing boards that Zeph has done that look really cool.

Dang thing rides well too.

Fun inda Sun-Norte

Green foam is so yesterday. It’s all about pink now darlings!
