GREEN ROOM BOARD COMPANY AND AERIALITE TEAM UP FOR EXCLUSIVE EPOXY LAMINATING SYSTEM, TO BE DEBUTED AT SURF EXPO.

December 27, 2007

For Immediate Release;

Green Room Board Company and BGF/Aerialite are pleased to announce the release of a new epoxy surfboard lamination system. The two companies have worked together to develop a lamination system which utilizes Green Room’s unique epoxy resin and a new Aerialite fiberglass cloth finish. This resin/cloth combination has been developed to create maximum strength, minimum weight and minimum discoloration in surfboards. Green Room’s resin engineer Dr. Rob Whitehead, who has been refining the resin formula over the past two years, is now producing a resin that will chemically bond to the exclusive formula of Aerialite’s cloth finish. The “chemical bonding” between the cloth and resin is key in creating an ultra-strong, ultra-light finished product. All of Green Room Board Company’s EPS surfboards are glassed with this epoxy lamination system creating a state-of-the-art, environmentally conscientious design. The boards are proven to have better flex patterns, more strength and lighter weight than traditional PU/PE surfboards. The materials, finished surfboards and their designers will be available for inquiries at January’s Surf Expo in Orlando, FL in the center of the Board Pavilion.

New epoxy, new sizing on the fabric…cool.

Do you have any spec sheets/numbers for the epoxy and the epoxy/glass combo? Resin ratios, pot life, cure time, physical properties, volatiles, etc?

In other words, what makes this combo better than what’s out there? And what’s the price point?

Sorry for being so blunt…

JSS

Well, the resin is a new formula developed to form a chemical bond with Aerialite’s specially formulated finish on their cloth. The refractive index is matched for a whiter board and more resistance to UV plus a stronger finished product. Our “fin juice” is also a new slow-kicking resin for fin plugs, that won’t burn the foam around the plugs and thus negates any need for high density inserts. The spec sheets can be found at www.greenroomboardco.com or here:

Very cool about the refractive index matching!! Very nice tech sheet, btw. Especially like the tables with the different exotherms for different hardener mixes. So, what’s the pricing like?

Fin Juice…intriguing!

So your saying, no more ziplock bags of ice on top of my fin plugs…very intriguing.

Left Coast distribution?

Dave Pearson at Ezera is currently our west coast distributor. He has some on the way. Give him a call: 760-473-3903

If you can’t get up with him, give us a call at 910-791-8136 and we can direct ship.

This would be the place to thank you guys (Dr. Whitehead, Jimmy Keith, Tom from Aerialite) for your hospitality at

Surf Expo. Let’s raise our glasses to Tom for supplying multiple kegs to keep the conversations flowing. Jimmy’s

finish work on your boards was best-in-show, as Kirk Brasington and I noted. I met Dr. Whitehead while he was

taking an ultra close-up look at one of our boards, trying to figure out just what the hell we’re up to. Then he took

me over to their place and plied me with alchohol and technical data on his resin. A good time was had by all.

Nice meeting you,

Mike

Mike

Thanks for the kind words…we all had a blast too!

Hey Mike,

Meeting you and the Brasington boys was one of the highlights of the show, very cool stuff you’re doing.
