Greg Noll Da Cat!

The good news is, there is an ad for a Noll Mickie Dora Cat  at a very very good price, The bad news is It was cut down to 8' 4"   From The look of the board it looks like at least a foot was taken off the tail A newer box fin was added at some point from the look my guess would be around 1970 or 1971. I'm sure that this board has lost any and all value as a collectible.

Still I'm temped might be able to do something with it. Tell me I'm crazy for even thinking of laying down cash on this travesty?

for 20 bucks i would give it a go but no more than that

Funny I got to shape with Rick James at his house in Mex this year and he used to shape the da cats for Greg. Wish I had his # to give to u

The guy wants $400.00  So this one is a pass. no matter what the only thing of any value is that it has an original lable under the glass.

OK, you are crazy.

I’d say the seller is a bit off kilter.

perhaps the Mickie part is also a clever marketing ploy to avoid copywright infringement for  a real uncut Miki model… this guy could be up to quite the slick shenanigan

There seems to be a few people out there in Craigslist land that think that every old board is worth it's weight in gold.  I have seen Boards advertised as " The Board that was used to make the movie Riding Giants."  Now you all know that all the historic footage by all the great big wave surfers all just rode that one board. In a another ad there was a old Duke Kahanamoku " That was hand shaped by the Duke." Now that is how to market an old pop-out board. Can't wait for the classic Dexter or Shark to classified as "rare and collectible."

I’ve already seen that type of nonsense on Ebay. One fool had a Keoki they claimed was made by “the famous shaper, Keoki, in Honolulu, Hawaii”.

Yup. As soon as it was cut down, it became junk.

Randy Rareit could easily get that back to  original and get $10,000 plus at the upcoming Oahu auction.

…and probably claim that it’s “mint condition”.
