Physically grown men pissin on each other and rollin around in the sand,

That board needs to be challenged by bigger surf. If all else fails a friend of mine has a surf shop in waikiki but the boards up north when it should be. Just takin it to sunset and lettin the alaia groms go at it would produce more real results, geesh.
A guy I know who used to be a keen surfer has been boardless for a while. We are always talking about surfing and boards just that he has to talk about the past whilst I’m in the present.
Lately he’s had too much work, back and foot pain problems and he’s finally taking 10 days off to head down the coast to surf with his son.
Needs a board.
I’ve got one organised for him to take.

It reminds me of the time I was stuck on an island boardless one local dude gave me a real flat 3 1/2 thick 8 footer, had some great waves on that board in some typhoons.
Im workin on a board for him now, may never even see him again but if I do, he will get somethin for his kindness.Im makin a wooden replica as best as I can from memory. Hope he gets it one day.

You hit that one on the head, kinda like the tail on that 13 foot kiwi special after rr bailed, looked like that tail was head hunting for a blond haired noggin. Like a pissed off race horse or mule - here it is at the minute forty two mark 1;42

Best “LOL” thread I’ve read in a while…
I have to admit, OTAY’s last comment in that thread made me laugh out loud.
I got sucked in and regret my involvement and apologize to all of you for it. My first post was bit harsh towards Roy so I guess I asked for it. For the record not one thing that Silly/Paul Cannon said about my intentions are true. Not an attempt to get it started again believe me it’s the last thing I want. But design wise it didn’t seem the board was living up to it’s fan fare so I questioned it along with Roys motives. Guess my definition of “ideal” is different than some peoples. The compsand boys went straight into the PU/PE bashing…calling me a spammer etc… Next up Kokua was gonna get thrown under the bus for his comments so for that alone I’m glad it got locked. Couldn’t find a nicer, more middle of the road kind of guy…

The ‘Challenge’ is a good thing. It’s all the other stuff that is not neccessary. Common courtesy and good manners usually get us further along towards our individual goals than the opposite. We see what we see and know what we know. Is it really that important to convince others of what you see or know? Do you really care what anyone here thinks? Over the past 5 winters I have taken my share of flack by folks of the west side and north shore.
You bring something different to the waterline and you ass is on the line, some just don’t understand that the reproduction boards I built are just that reproductions and not the next level that surfing is going to take.
The whole sport / Industry is going through a renaissance / revival / back to the roots, alot of it is stagnation, but there are guys in the water that haven’t seen this kind of equipment in their or their parents life time. The novelty is there and exploring it is fun, that’s why we do what we do, for the fun of it, or like Duke Boyd said “for the love of surfing”
Yeah it is unreal when your break is finally goin off after waitin patiently and respectfully. Goin off enough so to slow ya down and take the double check of tide, rip, channel, finally time those sets again, grab the board,
then get into a hassle.

The bottom line is someone posted an update on the board and some couldn’t help but to take the opportunity to bash Roy instead of leaving the comments for the board itself. It’s really that simple. Not every thread with about one of Roy’s boards needs to turn into a Roy bash fest.
Kokua was in no danger of being flogged. The only thing I would have added to his comments is …how you are in real life is irrelevant to an interenet discussion. Only what we type here is relevant to the discussion at hand. I suspect when some of us meet we will get a laugh out of all the internet bickering. I suspect most folks here are different in real life where you can see facial expressions and such. I certainly don’t take much of this personal unless someone purposely directs it that way.
Again…On Roy’s ideal board. It was always my understanding his boards are about down the line speed and nothing more?? When tried in some real surf…I suspect they will either flop or work. I like it when folks say they will do something and then do it. I can credit that without having to dislike or buy into the rest of the debate.
As for your comments and your partners. I don’t think many of us doubt the opinions you give are your own. It’s just that your partners and friends often show up on the threads you post, so sometimes it feels like your having a discussion with a group rather than just you. Thats not a criticism, just an observation. It’s fine also. Thats how forums are. They take on their own personality and contain their own groups with unique personalities. I certainly see no need for changing your handle. Most everyone will figure out who you are anyway. What would be the point?
I feel you have as much right to give your views here as anyone else. Which is why I am for open threads except in the case of personal attacks and name calling. The problem is if some folks don’t want certain other folks to have their say, they can cause a train wreck and get the threads locked shutting down what would otherwise be good conversations. Thats not directed at you Lok, but others here have admitted that is part of their strategy.
