Guess what this blank is used for

9’ x 27" x 6" Clark Foam Ultra light circa 1979 double stringer.  Perhaps the last of its kind.

Howdy Uncle Dennis -

Is that one of those paddleboard blanks that was designed to be glued end-to-end?  I can only imagine what you’re up to.

Got the double stringer in it is like a Karl Hill Sailboard Blank, but I think they were only 9’6.  I don’t think that blank is used for anything these days.

Nope!  Good guess.

Close but not quite.  I will wait for a few more guesses and I will spill the beans!

The outline shape suggests something like a wave ski but then not enough thickness.

Greenough windsurfer…?

Correction the Karl Hill blanks were in the 8 foot range.

Bingo!  Good job Bill.  Charlie Wong from Wave Toys Hawaii had a bunch of these blanks made for him.  It was from a 12’ windsurfer race board.  They asked Grubby Clark to use the same mold but to cut it off at 9’.  I had two of these wave skies.  I started getting lower back pains and stoped wave sking.  This one went with Harry Alama for a phyiscally challenged surfer.
