He went in for a quadruple bi-pass today, and will be in intensive care all tomorrow and at Grossmont Hospital for a week. We need to visit him and show him our support and keep him in our prayers. Pray for a healthy recovery. I’m sure his wife could sure use our help at the house or with keeping life at an even keel while he is laid up.

Holy Cow!, Bill our prayers are with you and your family my friend. Wish you a speedy recovery. Larry
Bill comes by my place at least a couple of times a week, I had gone to the Doc a few months ago and told him my left arm gets tingly climbing hills, Bill said he had the same thing but his chest hurt when he exerted himself.
He went in earlier this week for and exam and they sent him off for open heart quad bypass, as the condition was BAD, at least he got help soon enough.
Bill will be OK. It will take a little bit of time and some work to get past the operation, but he’ll have the energy of a gremmy. If you guys can help him get past the next 3 to 4 months, things will be on the up-side.
Bill, I am a heart attack survivor, and I have a lot of friends and family that have had bypass surgery. 2 people I know had it the last week, one had a triple and one had a quadruple. We’re all here praying for your fast recovery.
Something tells me he won't be accessing Swaylocks for a few days. Quad bypass is MAJOR life & death stuff! For a good long while his heart was completely stopped and a heart and lung machine were doing the oxygenating and pumping. At least his wife or someone can read letters to him while he's recovering.
Jim Phillips - I hope you are able to follow up on your tingly arm. Maybe a nerve thing, maybe a ticker thing, maybe like a rattlesnake shaking it's tail at you?
if there ever was a person who deserves to be prayed for and to have his large circle of friends, acquaintances, and admiring strangers (me) get him through with a smile it is Mr Bill Thrailkill
I'll be paddling out in Hurricane Bill this weekend... actually in a few hours really.... irony?
I will ask God to look over you and keep you safe as I thank Him many many times over the next 3-4 days of east coast swell...
I too will be enjoying Hurricane Bill this weekend and will be riding board(s) I made with some of the knowledge I've absorbed from Mr. Thrailkill's posts here on Sways. Thank you for sharing your experience. God be with you.
My Grandfather also had quadruple bypass and after recovery he said he felt 10X better and more energy!
I pray that the Lord's spirit will breathe new life into your vessel so you may continue to sail and navigate this life so we may receive more knowlage from such a great teacher and giving person.
May his grace be upon you and may he comfort your family through this time of need!
Bill get well quick, next time you stop by lunch at Ortegas is on me.
Jim, a few years ago I had a “tingly” left arm and numb fingers. Woke up one night with insane pain in my elbow, Ended up losing all the strength in my left side, I was out of the water for almost 9 mos. was barely able to work. The cause was a pinched nerve in my neck. Was told it was caused by having my head bent over while shaping. Bad posture. Now I do not work as much AND follow a routine of stretching my back and neck a couple times a day. Still have numb fingers and my big wave days are behind me but I am OK.
