Anyone have one of these? Mines an 8’6 x 23ish wide needs a few dings repaired. Bought originally in Wilmington Ma at a sporting goods store in the center of town. Said was purchased new in 69
what I do know is all Hannon’s have very accurate serial numbers that begin with the year the board was shaped then the production number of that year and then a length. I also know that Surfer Crow in Ogunquit Me was the only distributor in New England.
Cool. The serial number is 68330-86 thanks for the information Shady!
shaped in 68 and most likely sold used in 69.
I had a 8’6" Fast Eddie similar shape to yours. It was foiled out thin in the tail unlike most VBottoms made then so it rode pretty good. It also had a spray job on the bottom using stencils. Mine was yellow and green flowers. Earliest example of foam spray I’ve seen.
I would have guessed 1968 without knowing their serial number code. By 1969 these were considered obsolete.
Looks like they took a page from the Morey/Pope book on board decoration. M/P sold decorating kits for use with Slipcheck that were nothing more than paper doilies, repackaged. Used as stencils to create designs with Slipcheck. In fact, they got the “Golden Doily” award for product marketing at the Surfer Poll that year, as a joke.
Cool board. I had a 10’ hannon but it was totally trashed so i cut it down and reshaped it. East Coast classic.
